Using your eWIC Card can make your shopping experience faster and more convenient. The food package you receive depends upon whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and the age of your child. Adding your WIC foods to foods you usually eat will help you have a healthier diet. WIC Food Packages provide a variety of foods but not everything you need. MORE FORMULA OPTIONS Ohio WIC is allowing more formula options to families beginning June 13th, 2022. Examples of WIC foods include milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, juice, fish, whole grains, cereal, peanut butter, beans (dried or canned), fresh fruits and vegetables, infant formula and baby food.įor a complete list of WIC-approved foods, view the "WIC Approved Food List (XLSL)" link. The foods in a food package are based on federal regulations and are in alignment with the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the infant feeding guidelines of American Academy of Pediatrics. WIC foods are chosen because they contain nutrients needed for pregnancy, breastfeeding, infancy, and early childhood. WIC provides foods to supplement the diets of pregnant & breastfeeding women, and infants & children under 5 years of age. WIC benefits can be used to buy healthy food at over 340 authorized grocery stores statewide.
